It is with a tally of two fourth places that Manuela Gostner returns home from Silverstonefifth appointment of Ferrari Challenge Europe and last race to be run outside Italy: now there will be the races of Mugello and Imola.

On board the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo by MP Racingthe pilot from Caldaro just touched the podium both on Saturday in race 1 and on Sunday in race 2, finishing on both occasions with only the wooden medal. If in the first race Gostner had an exciting duel for second place with Axel Sartingenwhich lasted uninterrupted for the last 14 minutes of the race and solved only on the last lap in favor of the German, in race 2 Manuela became the protagonist of an exciting comeback.

Qualifying had relegated her to eleventh place due to a technical problem she suffered in the final stages: while she was on her fast lap a brake disc broke and this prevented her from printing a time that probably would have earned her the front row.

Despite the start from the center of the group, in the race Gostner reassembled up to third place scoring a total of seven overtakes, more than all his other opponents. Then, one penalty of 5 ″ for overtaking which for the stewards took place outside the limits of the track made her lose a position, thus sliding her to fourth place.

In the two qualifying I was always very fast, too bad for the small problems I ran into in the races“, the comment by Manuela Gostner: “In the first race I was unable to resist in Sartingen after a long duel that we carried on for several laps, always running to the limit. In the end I ran into a spin that ended a really beautiful battle: so I lost two positions, finishing fourth. In race 2, despite starting from the back, I tried everything in order to make up for it.

I started my race really strong, completing overtaking by putting my all into it. I completed six in the first two laps, but a penalty for grabbing third place slightly off the track made me get off the podium. Too bad, third place would have crowned a truly fantastic comeback. I know I ran strong, the commentators were going crazy: I’m in a really important and energized moment for the last two races in Italy ”.
