In the hills north-west of Los Angeles, a devastating fire took place in just over 24 hours. This is the Route Fire, which has already burned more than 2000 hectares of forest, fueled by the dry and hot climate that is affecting California and with gusts of wind that are causing fires to proliferate. There have been numerous evacuations, such as the interventions of the firefighters committed to containing the advance of the flames.
Meanwhile another major fire also developed in California but in San Diego County. According to local authorities this would have already devoured almost 2000 hectares of vegetation. There are fears for the next few days, due to the persistence of the very hot, dry and windy climate that may favor the emergence of new fires and also involve neighboring states such as Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
