Three Palermitans have been denounced for robberies and thefts in Palermo. Eight shots reconstructed in the central Via Maqueda, in front of the ATMs and inside the Cathedral while the devout faithful were praying.
Seven shots occurred in a month, which the police believe they have reconstructed, identifying the three responsible. The agents of the investigative section of the Central police station carried out checks and viewed images shot by cameras in the tourist itineraries.
A 27-year-old young man allegedly committed a theft against a tourist in the Cathedral on 5 August. Thanks to the footage of the video surveillance system in the church it was possible to notice how the man, pretending to be there to pray, approached the tourists absorbed on the pews and, from behind, took off the bag lying on the bench and then quickly walked away .
The other shots in the historic center were committed in the historic center. The same 27-year-old would be the author of two other thefts: one occurred on July 25 against a 70-year-old, another on the day of August 15th, when the young man would rob an apartment, taking advantage of the absence of the owners.
An 18-year-old resident of Zisa was also denounced for the crime of attempted robbery. A 32-year-old from Corso Tukory is instead accused of three robberies and for this he was reported to the judicial authorities.CopyAMP code.
The man, recently arrested for another cause and detained in prison, in the days immediately preceding it would have had time, last August 13 to rob a 20-year-old ATM in the Monte di Pietà area, on August 14 to steal his wallet with the threat to a 21-year-old from Palermo in piazzetta Montevergini and on 25 August to rob the bag of a very young woman from Palermo in via Maqueda.
