The 6 and 7 February 2023 at the start second edition of the “Preview of the DOP”, a two-day event dedicated to chefs and operators in the sector

The new Preview Dop oil from Umbria consolidates itself in the panorama of promotional events dedicated to extra virgin olive oils. The second edition, which will be held in Todi (PG) on 6 and 7 February, is organized by‘Associazione Strada dell’Evo Olio Dop Umbria and goes to enrich the important work of integrated promotion of the regional territory and of the Dop Umbria Extra Virgin Olive Oil,

Preview Dop oil from Umbria 2023: who will be present

Over the two days of the event, foreign operators selected by the sector will also participate Chamber of Commerce of Umbriatogether with the Umbrian chefs of the circuit of the Evoo Ambassador.

Preview Olio Dop Umbria is commissioned by the Città dell’Olio Association.

The first day

The first day (February 6) will be entirely dedicated to tasting and getting to know the product. It will leave at 10.00 in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Todi with a Panel Testsone tasting session of Evo Oil Dop Umbria by the Panel leaders of the “Oro Verde” Regional Award of Umbria, Angela Canale and Giulio Scatolini.

Work will continue at the“Ciuffelli – Einaudi” Agricultural Institute of Todi where a Tasting counter with producers of DOP Umbria oil: a truly unique opportunity to deal directly with local producers. A series will then follow training and follow-up activities, including a guided tour of the Agricultural Institute and the city of Todi. At 18.00in the Frescoed Hall of the city’s Pinacoteca Museum, will be held the press conference to present the new vintage of PDO Umbria extra virgin olive oil.

The day will close at the Oil mill I Potti de Fratini of Collazzone (PG) with a Dinner Oleocentric 8 hands with the chefs of the Evoo Ambassador circuit: Filippo Artioli chef de Oscar’s restaurantGiancarlo Polito chef of Typical Osteria dei Sensi & Locanda del Capitano di MontoneGiulio Gigli chef of Une Restaurant of Capodacqua of Foligno and Marco Gubbiotti chef of Kitchen Gastronomic Project of Foligno.

The first day of Anteprima Dop will begin on 6 February with a panel test.

The second day

Tuesday 7 February a tour is planned – dedicated to chefs, journalists and industry professionals – discovering the sub-areas of the Dop Umbria which will start from the visit to Umbria Agri-Food Technology Park 3A-PTA, the body that deals with the certification of the Umbria protected designation of origin (DOP) of oil, to then continue with the San Felice, Colli Martani and Rajo itineraries in the Amerini hills; itineraries created ad hoc to introduce participants to the Umbrian landscape and cultural emergencies in inseparable union with the specific products of the region.
