Following the disappearance of Gina Lollobrigida, the legal issues surrounding her have returned to the fore. Andrea Piazzolla let La Repubblica know that he did not want to be present at her funeral to avoid potential disputes with Javier Rigau, the Spanish businessman who had tried to defraud her diva with a fraudulent marriage, and with her son.

I chose not to attend the funeral because I disapproved of the disrespect shown to Gina by Xavier Rigau, her son and grandson. I didn’t want to act to show my disapproval because it’s not in my nature to do so.
