The Exhibition, which will have two exhibition venues, Palazzo Della Corgna and the Diocesan Museum of Santa Maria dei Servi, will be inaugurated Saturday 1 July and will last until 30 September 2023 and will develop around the iconographic focus of the main themes of Perugino’s works in Città della Pieve: the Nativity, the Baptism, the Deposition from the Cross and the Lamentation over the dead Christ, which represent some of the most significant moments of his innovative and revolutionary artistic career .

Città della Pieve, with the Mayor Fausto Risini fully included in the National Committee for Celebrations, it ranked first in the call, likewise with the National Gallery of Umbria, winning an important contribution. “After years of incessant work and intense planning – commented the municipal administration – the phase of confirmation of the loans has been completed which will bring to Città della Pieve about thirty works, in addition to those already owned by the city, by Perugino and contemporary painters of the Divine Umbrian and Tuscan painter, never brought together before, coming from from museums and national and international cultural institutions, from Vienna, the Uffizi Gallery and the Vatican Museums. The life, art and some of the most important works of Pietro Vannucci will be at the center of this year’s Pievese calendar, with numerous initiatives that will accompany the public to retrace his footsteps, in the places where he was born, lived and was inspired to create its magnificent masterpieces, but also by participating in themed events, workshops and entertainment”
