The announced stop to the discount on excise duties has increased the prices of supplies, but it is not the only trigger. The updated prices certify the upward trend and the trend in oil prices does not bode well

2023 began under the sign of the rise in fuel prices, widely expected above all for the end of the discount on excise duties decided by the Government. It’s not just this that pushes up the cost of filling up: an increase in excise duties, an increase in the “deltas” that companies apply to resellers on the wholesale fuel market, an increase in the cost of blending biofuels. These are, in decreasing order of impact, the factors to which the rise in international prices of refined products could be added in the coming days which, after a quiet start to the year, have abruptly reversed course around Epiphany, in particular as for diesel.

These are the average prices communicated by the managers to the price observatory of the Ministry of Economic Development and elaborated by the Staffetta, recorded at 8 am yesterday morning on about 15,000 plants (the difference with respect to last Thursday is in brackets).

This is the situation in self-service systems:

  • petrol 1.820 euros/litre (+10 thousandths, companies 1.822, white pumps 1.815);
  • diesel 1.878 euros/litre (+6, companies 1.880, white pumps 1.873).

This, however, is the point of the plants served:

  • petrol 1.960 euro/litre (+11, companies 2.003, white pumps 1.874);
  • diesel 2.018 euro/litre (+7, companies 2.062, white pumps 1.931);
  • LPG 0.791 euro/litre (-1, companies 0.803, white pumps 0.777);
  • methane 2.331 euro/kg (-53, companies 2.372, white pumps 2.299);
  • LNG 2.548 euros/kg (+16, companies 2.580 euros/kg, white pumps 2.525 euros/kg).

These are the prices on highways:

  • self-service petrol 1.912 euros/litre (served 2.171);
  • self-service diesel 1.963 euro/litre (served 2.223);
  • LPG 0.900 euros/litre; natural gas 2.567 euros/kg;
  • LNG 2.547 euros/kg.
