Mazda MX-5 2023 presents a new variety of colors for the bodywork, hood and interiors and a new range structure that offers complete equipment even on the basic trim level. An all-new Zircon Sand body color replaces Polymetal Gray, and a new brown soft top replaces the red soft top.

The range is structured on three levels to offer the possibility of choosing between the basic equipment Prime-Linethe intermediate one Exclusive Line and the top one Homura. Two new models Special Edition, Kazari and Kizunaare characterized by exclusive color combinations: Kazari features Terracotta Nappa leather upholstery, brown soft-top and black hardtop, while Kizuna combines white Nappa leather upholstery with blue soft-top and black hardtop.

The Kinematic Posture Control increases safety and comfort in every situation, whether you are tackling winding country roads or driving the MX-5 on the track. KPC uses instantaneous braking adjustments to increase rear suspension stability and reduce body roll when cornering, improving the MX-5’s characteristic handling and road grip, particularly when pushing the car to its limits.

What hasn’t changed is the snappy handling that comes from the MX-5’s innovative lightweight construction and perfect balance, from the brilliant Skyactiv-G engines (to Euro 6d standards even without the use of a particulate filter) coupled with a manual gearbox with perfect movement, and the peace of mind that comes from the full range of i-Activsense driver assistance technologies.

The MX-5 maintains its unmistakable style, blurring the lines between exterior and interior, while highlighting the perfectly balanced proportions of the two-seater. There new Zircon Sand tintwhich replaces Polymetal Grey, and the hood of the MX-5 roadster, which opens and closes instantly with a simple wave of the hand, is now available in brown, which replaces the red color.

There version with retractable hard top adds a special touch in design and comfort. The fully automatic MX-5 RF’s three-piece hardtop offers customers the best of both sports car worlds: open-air travel with the safety and comfort of a hardtop. The RF boasts the fastest retractable hardtop on the market, with its ingenious and compact mechanism that allows it to be opened or closed in just 13 seconds, even when moving up to 10 km/h.

Inside, the driver and passenger are sit lower compared to previous generation MX-5s and enjoy improved all-round visibility, as well as easier seat adjustment and door operation. The steering column is adjustable not only in height but also in reach, with the steering wheel, instruments and controls all arranged symmetrically along a single axis for stress and fatigue-free operation.

The Homura versions equipped with the 184 HP Skyactiv-G 2.0 engine are also equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers, a strut brace, a Brembo braking system and BBS forged alloy wheels. The Skyactiv-G 2.0 it is reactive and immediate at all engine speeds, responds quickly to accelerator commands and is more powerful while retaining its efficiency. The four-cylinder reaches 7,500 rpm with a maximum power of 135 kW/184 hp at 7,000 rpm, while the maximum torque of 205 Nm is already available at 4,000 rpm.

With the Skyactiv-G 2.0, the MX-5 Soft Top accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds (6.8 seconds for the RF) and reaches a maximum speed of
219 km/h (220 km/h for the RF). Consumption in both body variants is 6.9 l/100 km. To further improve efficiency, the Skyactiv-G 2.0 features i-Eloop, a capacitor-based brake energy recuperation system and Mazda’s i-stop shutdown system.

The range of engines then includes the Skyactiv-G 1.5, which delivers 97 kW/132 hp at 7,000 rpm and maximum torque of 152 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The MX-5 with the Skyactiv-G 1.5 consumes 6.1 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 138 g/km. It is also equipped with the i-Eloop braking energy recovery system and the Mazda i-stop shutdown system. Both engines are matched to a Skyactiv-MT manual gearbox six-speed gearbox designed exclusively for the MX-5, with its classic front-mid-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. As an option, the MX-5 RF can have an automatic gearbox.
