Peaks of 100mm in less than three hours on western Sicily, bus overturns, flood in Castelvetrano – Violent self-healing V-SHAPED storm (i.e. similar to the one that caused the flood in the Marche), hit western Sicily with particular violence in the last hours, especially the province of Trapani, but partly also that of Agrigento and Palermo. Difficult situation in particular in the Trapani area with floods and flash floods, together with numerous damages and inconveniences. The most serious problems concern the area between Mazara del Vallo, Castelvetrano, Contessa Entellina and Corleone where over 50-60mm of rain fell in 2-3 hours, with peaks close to 100mm at Contessa Entellina. Right in the vicinity of the latter municipality a bus covering the Palermo-Sciacca route overturned along the state road 624; there would be several injured.

Streets like rivers in Castelvetrano where there is a flash flood; damage and flooding in Corleone, Contessa Entellina, Santa Margherita Belice, Sambuca di Sicilia and Poggioreale. Dozens of interventions by the Fire Brigade to clear the streets of water and mud.
