Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red (working name) is one of the biggest surprises among those presented on the occasion of the fifteen-year anniversary event of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Basically we talk about the next major chapter of the series, what will come after Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Of Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red very little has been seen, basically just a suggestive one teaser trailer in computer graphics that revealed the setting: feudal Japan, complete with a ninja assassin with a hidden blade. Fans have been asking for a major Assassin’s Creed set in the east for years and they’ve finally been satisfied.

After the teaser, others were provided generic details: will be a premium title and will resume the RPG structure of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. It will naturally be open world.

Leading the development is Ubisoft Québec, the same studio as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Leading the project is Jonathan Dumont, who previously directed Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Odyssey and Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Dumont has previously worked on Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and World of Warcraft (for Blizzard Interactive).

Of Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red Ubisoft did not provide one release date or details on the platforms. Making some easy assumptions, it is sure that we will not see it in 2023, the year in which Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released. More likely to arrive at the end of 2024 or 2025. For platforms we assume that by then Ubisoft will have abandoned the older generation of gaming machines to focus on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. Of course, take these last statements with due caution. , since it is only our speculations, not officially confirmed.
