The Italian men’s volleyball team is in the final at the 2022 World Championships. The clear victory against Slovenia in the semifinals certifies a result that was missing since 1998. A new extraordinary test of a group that continues to amaze, counting on determination, cohesion and a lot of talent. Among the protagonists of the day, as well as of the whole event, Alessandro Michieletto and Yuri Romanò, authors of 9 and 12 points respectively. Both spoke to the microphones of the Italian Volleyball Federation after the end of the match.

These are the words of Michieletto: “We are very happy even if this is trivial to say. Another good game on our part and now head to tomorrow, we will try to trip the Poles in their home. With the strength of the group you can do these things. Today a game in control to our credit, the third set was a bit complicated but we came out of a great team ”

“I believe that Italy deserves this World Final. We know the Poles, we know that they have very hot support and that it will be a completely different game. But we know we are playing by race and we have a huge desire. We can’t wait to play this beautiful semi-final ”.

Romanò also continued on the same themes: “I’m happy with the game and having reached this final, it’s incredible. The game today was very hard, they are a tough team that never gives up, even if we were leading by 4-5 points. We have been tougher than them ”.

“It will be very nice to play the final against Poland. The public can push them but also put pressure on them, we will try to use it in our favor and we will give everything to win. On the pitch we have done what we know how to do ”.
