Mark Fassoneformer manager of Juventus, Napoli, Inter and Milan speaks to 1 Radio Stationfocusing on the case of capital gains and the 15-point penalty imposed on Juve: “I didn’t understand the reasons why this sentence was reached and I don’t know if it will involve other clubs. The scenario is similar to 2006, when the only investigation was into a single team. The issue that generates perplexity is the fact that the mechanism of capital gains is inherent within football, because it has always been considered a market value. In fact, no one would have an interest in abusing it because it is a valid mechanism for a short period, but not in the bulk. We evaluate something else, a system around Juve which leaves some perplexities”.

Then, on Spalletti and Giuntoli’s Napoli ride: “Merit of Napoli or demerits of the rivals? I don’t want to go into the details of the rival market, but I look at a common denominator. Napoli has a usual company, Cristiano has been in the management for many years, the club has enjoyed many benefits for years. It is also showing great football on the pitch. You see Inter, Milan or Juve, I think the precarious balance within the club has a great influence. Merit of Napoli certainly for the path taken, but as far as the other clubs are concerned, the lack of stability affects the various clubs a lot”.
