There Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 had played againstIgor Gorgonzola Novara on March 13, 2021 in Rimini, in the semifinal of his first final four of the Frecciarossa Italian Cup. He should have faced her on January 5, 2022 in Rome, again in the semifinal, but the participation of the biancoblù skipped due to Covid. This year Chieri and Novara find themselves in the quarter finals: the match, a one-off match, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 25 January (starting whistle at 20.30), to the PalaIgoris giving away qualification for the final four of the Frecciarossa Italian Cup scheduled for Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno. This is the second meeting of the season between the girls coached by Stefano Lavarini and those of Giulio Cesare Bregoli, two and a half months away from the championship match which last November 12 saw Chieri conquer the PalaIgor with an exhilarating 0-3. Compared to that match, the Gaudenzians added setter Carlotta Cambi to their roster, registered to replace the injured Jordyn Poulter.
