Car ends up in canal: three boys trapped in the vehicle died. A quarter is saved and raises the alarm

These are four young men of Indian origin. The only survivor of the crash raised the alarm.

Tragic accident in Veronella in the afternoon of today 15 January 2023. From the first information gathered, around 17.20 a car with four people on board went off the road, on the SP7b, in via Battello Zerpano, autonomously ending its run in a canal.

Three boys of Indian origins – between 19 and 20 years old – died trapped in the car that ended up in the water and a fourth who was thrown out of the car and, although injured, managed to raise the alarm. Health workers rescued him and transported him to the San Bonifacio hospital for checks.

On site the operators of the Suem 118, who intervened with self-medication and ambulances, together with the traffic police and firefighters who worked for a long time to recover the car of the young people ended up in the stream, about 10 meters below compared to the street level. The firefighters who arrived from Caldiero, Lonigo and Verona with the crane, extracted the lifeless bodies of the three boys stuck in the car from the overturned car.
