Milan, 15 January Debut with a bang for ‘Ultracon’, the first edition of the fair dedicated to comics, games and pop culture, hosted in the halls of CremonaFiere. Two days for fans of comics, video games, board games and bricks who were able to wander around commercial stands and interactive areas and have fun with many live events and meetings: from the best-known voices of dubbing to those of animated theme songs, with performances live by Cristina D’Avena and Giorgio Vanni.
Over 18 thousand visitors were able to spend two days of fun in all its forms: “Thanks to the success achieved in these two days – comments Massimo De Bellis, director of CremonaFiere, the body that co-organized the event together with Centro Fiera Montichiari- Ultracon it has been part of the national calendar of comics fairs since its first year, assuming a leading role.A great novelty for the area and an opportunity for fun for families and enthusiasts, with special attention to local realities and the opportunities offered by the new worlds linked to youth entertainment, also in terms of culture and employment. We hope it will become a fixed appointment for the city of Cremona and attract more and more visitors also from neighboring areas and regions”.
There was no shortage of surprises: from the world of dubbing, with real stars such as Flavio Aquilone, the unmistakable voice of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter, Emanuela Pacotto, Bulma in the famous anime Dragon Ball and Pietro Ubaldi who lent his voice to Doraemon ; to the kitchen of Chef Hiro, television face and ambassador of Japanese cuisine in Italy who entertained fans with a live cooking show, amidst amusing anecdotes and curiosities about the Japanese world. Hundreds of cosplayers scattered throughout the pavilions involved visitors in an experience of a parallel dimension, where it was possible to come across the most loved characters from comics and TV series. And then a ‘moment of nostalgia’, with Manuela Blanchard, Roberto Ceriotti and Pietro Ubaldi who proposed a revival on children’s TV. The interpreters of the animated theme songs Cristina D’Avena and Giorgio Vanni were much appreciated, who performed on the notes of their most famous melodies. The bricks area is very popular, where in addition to admiring incredible and monumental works of art, families and children were able to play together, becoming skilled builders of fantasy worlds for two days. Even in the videogames area, generational differences have disappeared: involved in an authentic journey dedicated to the most beautiful games, parents and children let themselves be conquered by the unchanged charm of the almost 100 original 1980s cabinets and the new PC and console stations.
