Initiatives are planned for 10 and 11 October, to commemorate the tragedy of the Capaci massacre
CAMPOBASSO. On 10 October 2022, the Teca, managed by the ‘Quarto Savona Quindici’ association, will arrive in Campobasso and will remain open until the following day.It contains the remains of the armored Fiat Croma, Giovanni Falcone’s spare car, on which the 23 May 1992, the day of the Capaci massacre, traveled by Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Dicillo and Vito Schifani.
The initiative, which received the patronage of the Municipality of Campobasso and which is promoted by the regional coordinator for Molise of the National Anti-Mafia Association ‘ConDivisa, Sicurezza e Giustizia’, Dr. Giovanni Alfano, will take place in the regional capital, in Piazza Prefettura .
On 10 October, starting at 10.30, there will be a public demonstration in the presence of the civil and religious authorities for the presentation of the Teca to the citizens and all school groups of all levels of the city will be invited.
The association ‘Quarto Savona Quindici’ (the code name of the team to which the tutelage of Giovanni Falcone was assigned) was born from the initiative of Tina Montinaro, widow of Antonio, head of the escort of Giovanni Falcone. The goal is to keep alive the memory of the 1992 Capaci massacre, “transforming pain into concrete actions”.
The association includes students, teachers, entrepreneurs, professionals, employees, public employees, journalists, members of the police.
