PUGLIA – The great commitment of the Ministry and the regional councilors on operational programs for olive producer organizations helps the Italian olive system to grow and not to waste the hard work of aggregation of farmers and enhancement of Italian productions carried out in the last twenty ‘ years. This is what Coldiretti Puglia claims, together with Unaprol – Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano, regarding the outcome of the State Regions Conference which decided to adopt 2022 as the reference year for the calculation of the community resources that can be assigned to POs for 2023, parameterised on the basis to the turnover of the same.
The choice of the reference year 2022, instead of 2021, will make it possible to allocate greater community resources to those regions capable of producing high levels of turnover, such as Puglia in the first place, and will give the possibility to many territories, which in the coming years will inevitably they will lose the availability of community resources, to gain a year in terms of planning of actions, activities and reorganization, explains Coldiretti Puglia, underlining that the decision of the Ministry and the Regions will certainly allow to present programs more appropriate to the real conditions of local entrepreneurial realities and to commit all the resources made available to the sector.
The timing proposed by the Ministry is perfectly in line with the possibility for the POs to plan investments while the administrations will have the actual turnover supported by official documentation so that the assignment takes place in the maximum transparency possible, concludes Coldiretti Puglia. adding that the choice of introducing negotiated contracts that respond to the need to include in the calculation of the resources to be distributed also the production of oil and olives, which derives from contracts signed directly by its members, is also positive.
