VENAFRO – A branch of the “L. Perosi ”in the city of Venafro.
It was the proposal that the regional councilor for culture, Vincenzo Cotugno, launched last September 2 during the concert at Verlasce as part of the “Opera in Molise” review and which is now becoming a reality. In the last meeting of the Academic Council of the Conservatory, in fact, the proposal was received by the internal body of the Institute of Higher Education and approved unanimously.
In the same session, the director of the Conservatory, Vittorio Magrini, was given a mandate to proceed with the dialogue with the Regional Department of Culture and the Municipality of Venafro to proceed with the opening of the new headquarters.
“It is news that fills me with joy – said Cotugno – for some time I had asked for this project to finally take off, also considering all the interest and passion that Venafro has put for music in recent years, with various events promoted by the Regional Councilorship and which have led many people to approach this important educational institution of ours. Furthermore, expanding the school training offer in Venafro not only represents an advantage for the local population, especially for our young people, but also places the city as a new pole of attraction at an interregional level for the training offer.
I would say a historic result for which I thank all the Academic Council of the Conservatory to which I guarantee that we will work immediately to start an experimental class this same year! “
Among the hypotheses launched by the councilor Cotugno for the Venafro headquarters we speak of the Palazzina Liberty or Palazzo De Utris in the historic center.
“For the Conservatory this is a great opportunity to bring music to the level
academic in the Venafrano area and also at an interregional level given the important strategic position “. explained the director of the Conservatory, Vittorio Magrini – I am grateful to councilor Cotugno for the proposal and for what we have been doing in recent years to bring music and culture to every corner of the region. In the next few days I will ask for a technical meeting with the Regional Department and the Municipality of Venafro to reach an agreement that will allow us, starting this year, to start basic and free courses “.
