( In Italy, extreme climatic events are on the rise, already 130 since the beginning of the year. Between records of heat, storms, hailstorms, tornadoes and floods, the impact of climate change is there for everyone to see: increasingly higher temperatures accumulate a lot of energy in the troposphere, which is then transferred to the ground through increasingly intense meteorological phenomena and frequent.

Bad weather in the Marche: all updates

Since the beginning of the year, extreme events have grown by 50% compared to the same period in 2021. In Italy the tendency towards a tropicalization of the climate is evident: the latest waves of storms have hit dry soils that have not been able to absorb the water with consequent landslides and floods; it should also be remembered, after the recent flood phenomenon, that for example 100% of the municipalities in the Marche partly fall into hydrogeological risk areas, as confirmed by the data from Ispra, Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research.

In this context, the bad weather expected in the next few hours is more than a threat: a core of cold air from Sweden is crossing the North-East towards the Center-South with phenomena that today will be intense until the evening, with a partial attenuation only from late afternoon.

Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of the site, predicts heavy rains on Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, eastern Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Campania, Basilicata and Calabria. Also on the rest of the Peninsula there will be rains in local extension up to Sicily.

Temperatures will generally decrease in the Center-North, in particular between Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche. 10-12 ° C lower in the maximum values are also expected, a phase of change of season will arrive.

All this will then be accompanied by very strong winds with gusts of gale on Sardinia, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche, in extension to Abruzzo, Molise and the Gargano Puglia; also worth mentioning is the foehn or foehn in the alpine regions. In short, a difficult picture, caution!

On Sunday the weather will seem that of another country compared to Saturday: sun, almost complete attenuation of the wind, pleasant temperatures during the day but a little cold in the morning: in fact, minimums to be marked below 10 ° C in the Center-North, slightly more high in Lombardy and Piedmont thanks to milder winds than Foehn.

Next week a further drop in the mercury column is expected between Wednesday and Thursday when temperatures could be 8 degrees below the average for the period: for example, the capital could score only 23-24 ° C in the afternoon, those that were the minimum will become the maximum in an extreme weather turnaround!
