According to the 2022 classification of the “BenVivere”, the quality of life is good in the North and in the Center, a little less in the South even if the gaps are decreasing. The condition of the Calabrian cities remains bleak Crotone (105th), Vibo Valentia (106th) e Reggio Calabria (107th).

Bolzano, the capital of the province of the same name in Trentino Alto Adige, is gold medal, Siena in second place and Florence third (both improving their placement a year ago). Wooden medal in Ancona (+8 positions).

In the top ten there are Pordenone (fifth), Trieste (sixth with a jump of 11 places), Prato (which moves back to seventh place), Trento (eighth), Milan (ninth) and the new entry Savona tenth. At the bottom of the ranking, the beautiful, but neglected South: Syracuse (98th position), Palermo (99th), Foggia (100th), Taranto (101st), Caserta (102nd), South Sardinia (103rd) Caltanissetta (104th). The first southern province is Bari (63rd).

The report, produced by the School of Civil Economics in collaboration with Avvenire and with the contribution of Federcasse and Confcooperative, is based on the data analysis of 77 indicators of 10 parameters: Hospitality, Environment, tourism and culture, Human capital, Demography and family, Economy and Inclusion, Civil Commitment, Work, Legality and Safety, Health and Personal Services. The researchers who carried out the research underlined a general improvement and a convergence trend: “There is a triple, albeit extremely slow, process of convergence of scores upwards: on a general level (the second half of the ranking is less far from the first), at the top level (the former no longer so far from the latter) and at the flop level (the latter are closer to the penultimate).

The convergence in well-being this year is observed in particular between the Center and the North, with the Center improving on average in well-being compared to the North by 0.527 points ”. This means that for the second consecutive year there is a limited and constant trend of convergence between the Italian territories and a general improvement in the quality of life.
