The administration of the new bivalent anti-Covid vaccines, effective both against the original strain of the virus and against the Omicron variant, has begun in Piedmont.
There Piemonte region started the administration as third and fourth doses of new bivalent anti-Covid vaccines.
These vaccines are manufactured by Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna, have the technology m-Rna and are effective both against the original strain of the Sars-CoV-2 virusboth against the Omicron BA.1 variant.
The green light for the fourth dose with the new vaccine is also expected for the healthcare personnelthe RSA operators and the pregnant women, provided that at least 120 days have passed since the last administration. There are over 132,000 health professionals in Piedmont who have already met the requirements for the fourth dose and over 27,000 RSA operators.
Covid, the fourth dose for the over 60s of Piedmont is underway
Those who work in the public health system will be taken care of directly by their own structure, while those who work in the private system will be summoned by one of the vaccination centers after having carried out the pre-accession on www.IlPiemontetivaccina.it, starting from September 19, 2022.
Also from Monday 19 September pregnant women who wish to receive the fourth dose will be able to go to direct access to any vaccination center in the area, after having downloaded the documentation for self-certification from the regional portal (it will be online from 19 September).
