“From year to year, we record an increase in the number of municipalities and realities that adhere to Giretto d’Italia, an initiative that intercepts a growing desire for sustainable mobility among the many citizens who move daily around the city to reach schools as well as workplaces. – declares Giorgio Zampetti, general manager of Legambiente – It is necessary to increase the bike to work and make the great Italian urban centers able to compete with the great European capitals, discouraging the use of cars in which the beautiful country still holds the sad record in the Old Continent. We therefore welcome the recent approval of the General Plan for cycling: an important opportunity to concretely focus on integrated, intermodal and sustainable mobility, and thus transform our cities and our roads into more livable and safe places, especially through creation of home-school and home-work cycle paths “..
As part of the Giretto d’Italia 2022, each participating municipal administration, school or company can provide incentives for participants: offering, for example, gifts and tickets for the drawing of prizes or breakfast bonuses to those who will use sustainable mobility vehicles to go to school or work or, again, asking them to pass through the identified gates, so as to create a sort of competition between classes, offices and companies.CopyAMP code
