Saudi Arabia has decided to present a maxi-offer to Serie A to confirm the agreement on the Italian Super Cup. According to MF-Milan Finance, the proposal on the table, binding, is for 138 million euros. The renewal has a duration of six years, until 2028/29, for a fee of 23 million net per season because the host country would cover the travel and accommodation costs. A practically triple value compared to that of the current contract (approximately 8 million).
‘SPANISH’ FORMAT – The improved offer is mainly the result of what should be the new format of the tournament with four teams, along the lines of the one organized in Spain: the first two classified in Serie A and the two finalists of the Italian Cup. The tournament would therefore take place in three games, two semifinals and a final. The winning team or one of the other entrants would eventually go to face the winning club of the Saudi Super Cup.
