LIGURIA – Arpal has extended the yellow weather alert for thunderstorms and rains in the central-eastern part of Liguria. The alert triggered at 11 am will no longer end at midnight on Wednesday 14 September but at 3 pm on Thursday 15 September. The alert concerns the center up to the border with Tuscany including the Scrivia, Trebbia and d’Aveto valleys.

LA SITUATION – Cloudiness between irregular and compact and low intensity precipitations they characterized the first part of the day also marked by a robust increase in humidity rates and an increase in minimum temperatures (Genova Centro Funzionale scored 24.3 degrees, Savona Istituto Nautico 23.4). Also noteworthy is the strengthening of the southern winds, in particular on the reliefs (91 km / h reached at Lake Giacopiane).

In the next few hours, rains, including thunderstorms, are also expected, locally strong, which may be more intense in the central Levante, but not excluded also in the West (in particular from the easternmost part of zone A to the east, where a low probability of strong storms is reported). The most marked instability will remain at least until the early afternoon of tomorrow, Thursday, also following the transit of the disturbance, expected between the night and the early hours of the morning. Locally strong phenomena will be possible, also associated with gusts of wind (wind which, however, is expected to reinforce from the southern quadrants). In the next few days, conditions of variability will remain; to report from Friday evening, the entry of northerly winds that will bring, over the weekend, a marked drop in temperature. Another instability is expected on Saturday.

ARPAL WEATHER FORECAST:

WEDNESDAY 14 SEPTEMBER perturbed and unstable weather due to the presence of southern humid currents linked to the approach of a sack at high altitude. More persistent rainfalls are also expected in the Center-Levant, with significant accumulations in the Levant area. High probability of showers or strong thunderstorms on the center-Levante and Scrivia, Trebbia and d’Aveto valleys, also associated with possible wind reinforcements with gusts that can locally reach 80-100 km / h; low probability of strong phenomena on the west and its hinterland. Southern winds up to strong on the reliefs on the central-Levant and its hinterland, sea up to very rough on the Levant.

THURSDAY 15th SEPTEMBER the passage of the perturbation maintains conditions of instability and advection of southern humid currents, in particular on the center-east. High probability of showers or strong thunderstorms on the center-Levante and its hinterland, also associated with possible wind reinforcements with gusts that can locally reach 80-100 km / h; low probability of strong phenomena on the west. Winds up to strong gusts from south-west on the west, locally on the eastern reliefs. Very rough sea
