Tomorrow at 3 pm the first “English” stadium in Southern Italy will open its doors to fans, ie without fences, barriers and ditches that divide the fans from the playing field. It will happen in Palma Campania where, at the behest of the municipal administration, the redevelopment of the municipal stadium but also of the surrounding area has been started, with the creation of a commercial gallery, a restaurant and pedestrian areas dedicated to citizens.
A stadium designed for families and young people, absolutely futuristic and very different from those found in most of Italy, with security guaranteed by a modern video surveillance system.
The new stadium will be open for the Palmese – Angri match, valid for the Serie D championship, starting at 3 pm. Around 2000 fans are expected to attend. Until 2026, the stadium will be expanded with additional seats and the redevelopment will be completed for the entire surrounding area: in the meantime, however, the structure has obtained all the authorizations to be able to open and be used as of this Sunday.CopyAMP code.
“This is a revolutionary project, for which we will spend a total of about 17 million euros in intercepted loans. The English model is a useful and functional reference not only for football matches but also for social and cultural events, as well as for eliminating barriers ”, explains Mayor Nello Donnarumma.
