TRIESTE (ITALPRESS) – The invitation is to work together on the topics covered by the conference, with the aim of countering the idea that canine activity, zootechnical selection and actions to increase the capacity or natural predispositions of the animal are seen as something that disturbs the very nature of the dog. This is the concept expressed today in Udine by the regional councilor for agri-food resources Stafano Zannier on the occasion of the conference entitled “Dog breeding: biodiversity, well-being and health”, created with the collaboration of the Friulian, Isontino and Pordenonese dog groups. Among the speakers, Stefano Paolo Marelli researcher in zooculture at the University of Milan and the expert in dog law Giovanni Bonifacio. As the exponent of the Giunta pointed out, the problem is that we are faced with a culture that cannot distinguish the genetic diversity between the human species and the canine race and that makes the mistake of putting them on the same level, not making in this way the good of the animals following the correct ethological principles. On this, as the commissioner explained, we need shared action that favors a scientific stance aimed at overcoming this distortion in order to reach a necessary point of balance. Finally, on the occasion, the commissioner thanked the dog groups of Friuli Venezia Giulia for the activity carried out with great professionalism and passion.
