With Alba Vitae the wine smells of solidarity: AIS Marche in support of the social cooperative PAGe.F.Ha.

The wine that gives hope, that extends a hand, that offers a dawn of life… Alba Vitae, the solidarity initiative created eleven years ago by the Italian Sommelier Veneto Association, has crossed borders. In fact, eight other regional associations have joined the proposal and raised funds to be allocated to a social project, including the Marche led by President Stefano Isidori.

Every year the AIS Regional Association identifies a producer who, at very affordable prices, undertakes to supply a certain number of bottles packaged in an exclusive magnum version, the proceeds from their sale are then donated to charity. AIS Marche for this solidarity debut went to the south of the region, choosing as interlocutor the social cooperative PAGe.F.Ha. operating in the province of Ascoli Piceno and as a wine a Rosso Piceno Superiore Doc, the 2017 Morellone of the wine company “Le Caniette” of Ripatransone.

And it is precisely there, in conjunction with a tasting of the eight oenological excellences chosen by the regions involved in the project, that on 8 September the Council of AIS Marche delivered to PAGe.F.Ha. Onlus the proceeds from the sale, a check for € 1,594.93.

«It was a very important moment, we thank AIS Marche for choosing us. Initiatives like these – said Sara Baligioni, President of PAGe.F.Ha. Onlus – give us hope for the future because they are a sign that attention to fragile people is not only on the part of those who work and work for these people but also of the community ». The cooperative was born in 1980 as an association of parents with children with disabilities, today it has 250 members, it operates mainly in the Ascoli area, but also in Abruzzo and in the other provinces of the Marche region, with social – welfare and socio – health home assistance services aimed at to over 1,000 people including the elderly, the sick and the disabled. On the model of the farm community, in 2013, by PAGe.F.Ha. “L’orto di Paolo” was also born, a socio-educational rehabilitation day center located in the Marino del Tronto area (Ascoli Piceno).

«When I was offered to join the Alba Vitae project, I immediately believed it was a brilliant idea. As the Italian Sommelier Marche Association – declared the President Stefano Isidori – we have always wanted to commit ourselves to something bigger, like this initiative with a strong ethical commitment. The Council responded positively and we aimed for one of the most awarded wines in Italy, which also achieved excellence in the Vitae guide. On the other hand – added the President – Giovanni Vagnoni, owner of the winery in question, is not the first time that we have seen him engaged with us AIS sommeliers in the social field, so we had no doubts. I admit that, given the times, we suffered a bit in selling the wines, but in the end the result arrived and our “Morellone Alba Vitae” eventually landed all over Italy, from Turin to Alcamo ».

Also present at the delivery was Manuela Cornelii, responsible for social projects of the Italian Sommelier Association, which saw Alba Vitae born and expanded. «Wine has many facets. Those who study it – she explained – simultaneously study chemistry, physics, geography, philosophy. But the even more beautiful thing that makes wine an even more noble product is that it can be, in a decidedly important way, a Source of solidarity ».
Meanwhile, fresh from the success of the first year, the Italian Sommelier Marche Association is already working to identify the Magnum as the protagonist of the next edition of Alba Vitae.
