The grenades play better and have the best chances, thwarted by the Slovenian. Then in the final match the Croatian goal

The extreme extension of Brozo at the sunset of the match gives Inter three points that seemed unexpected, collected with the strength of desperation rather than with clarity and ideas, against a Toro who for the most part had made a much better figure than the Nerazzurri . If Inzaghi was able to take advantage of this outburst of nerves and heart in the final he owes it above all to his recovered captain, Handanovic, who returned to his place and was especially busy in the second half to counter the grenade bombing. However, the problems for Inzaghi continue to smolder, even if this victory is water in the desert: it gives new life. On the contrary, Torino leaves San Siro with one regret: had they dared more at the right time, the result would have been very different.

FIRST HALF

At the beginning Simone Inzaghi brings the “sacrificed” of the massacre against Bayern back to their old tasks: Handa finds his place in goal, De Vrij repositioned himself to lead the defense and Barella also tried to give adrenaline from the midfielder. If anything, the news of the day is the position of Dimarco, not a full-fledged outsider but a new “arm” of the defense, with ample room to enter. Toro, without Juric still held back by pneumonia, ranks in the center of the defense Buongiorno, who won the ballot with Schuurs, and the former Lazaro on the right. If Sanabria is preferred to Pellegri in the role of buoy in the 3-4-2-1, the big news on the trocar is Seck teaming up with Vlasic instead of Radonjic. Strangely, at the start, Toro assumes a wait-and-see attitude, different from usual, while Inter is that of the last week, if not worse: the derby and Bayern toxins have not yet gone away and the Nerazzurri, at an after-work pace, they make a huge effort to ferry the ball in front. It looks like the team of the month of April, the one that threw away a scudetto that seemed already on the bedside table, with legs still paralyzed by fear and tips disconnected from the rest of the body. Thus, in the first half with chloroform in which the first whistles to the Nerazzurri were heard clearly, the greatest opportunity naturally has the Toro. And with whom, if not Vlasic, public danger number 1: he slips between Barella and Skriniar and engages Handa in a parade with a high symbolic value. With Onana blowing on the neck, the Slovenian needs old certainties to secure his place and keep away as much as possible a succession that seems inevitable.

SECOND HALF

At the beginning of the second half, if anything, the clouds thicken even more under the Inter sky. No shock from Inzaghi and grenade that rise dangerously, building an opportunity to head with Sanabria (another save from Handa) and a poison cross from Lukic. After 6 ‘here is the episode that could have given a different meaning to the match: Sanabria always sees a red for a swing on Calha, but after Var intervention the referee Ayroldi correctly retraces his steps by changing the color of the card. The plot of the match does not change however, with the Slovenian goalkeeper having to parry with his feet in the old style Garella an anonymous free-kick from his side of Rodriguez and then get his hands on another pair of Vlasic lefts. The usual, now atavistic, difficulties in the construction of the Nerazzurri do not seem easy to resolve, for this reason Simone relies on the bench: while Paro chooses Radonjic for Seck and Ilkhan for Linetty, Inzaghi removes Dumfries and replaces Bastoni behind (Darmian goes to the right and Di Marco climbs higher). But, above all, the coach changes half of the attack, putting Correa next to Lautaro. The Argentine Bull really seems the only one who would have the energy in his body to hurt the other Bull, but they are often individual initiatives, like the sombrero that throws him towards Milinkovic’s goal before Lukic’s prodigious recovery. The thrust of the public, however, is felt and an Inter reaction is finally seen, with a higher aggression and balls that finally fall in the grenade area: the first save by the Serbian goalkeeper arrives on Skriniar’s header, before Barella fails on the most nice jab in front of the door. And then it is Martinez himself with a spectacular turn of the head to touch the goal, but it is a fire that remains lit for a very short time, ten minutes maximum, and goes out immediately also because the inputs of Mkhitaryan and Bellanova do not add thrust. Indeed, it is Radonjic who calls Handa, by far the best of him, to the umpteenth save. When it seems that there is no space beyond 0-0 and the Nerazzurri’s boils have definitely calmed down, Inter pulls a three-point goal out of the hat, a bit impromptu and son of the heart that still has this path. The passage to bypass Barella’s defense recalls the Nicolò that he was, the insertion of Brozovic behind Ilkhan is like an area robber. That rolling ball doesn’t solve the problems in the least, but it gives relief. Toro, on the other hand, will make a high-ranking championship, San Siro is a witness.
