Spina (Perugia), 2 September 2022 – From 9 to 11 September the village of Spina hosts the fourth edition of Gecko Fest, the festival promoted by the cultural association Spin-A Enhancing People, dedicated to the themes of change, tenacity and adaptation as essential moments of construction of the future. Three days full of talks, concerts, shows, artistic performances and nature trails that can count, among others, on the patronage and contribution of the Umbria Region, the Regional Legislative Assembly, the Municipality of Marsciano and the Municipality of Norcia. Also for the 2022 edition, the theme of the event is “Terrae, della terra. Chapter 2 ”, or the search for new navigation routes for a renewed balance in the relationship between humanity and planet Earth.

Friday 9 September
Gecko Fest opens in the splendid setting of the Rocca di Sant’Apollinare with the national conference “We are Energy! The ecological transition between circular bioeconomy, community energy and cultural heritage ”, a day of study and training with sector experts, professionals, academics, in collaboration with the Perugia Agricultural Education Foundation. An important moment of discussion and study on the ecological transition process towards a new model of energy production. Among the guests the President of Censis Giuseppe De Rita.
On the evening of Friday 9 in Piazzetta della Libertà, in Spina, appointment at 9.30 pm with “New navigation routes”, a night drone show by Eagles Project, followed by “Fire Flowers”, performance for electric violin and loop machine by musician and composer Laurence Cocchiara.
In addition, from 18.00 to 24.00 in the castle of Spina, in the spaces that hosted the Laterizio museum, the initiative “Let’s translate emotions into art” by Eagleprojects is scheduled for both Friday 9 and Saturday 10.
Saturday 10th September
It starts from Mercatello, at 09.00, with “Incontrando Gerardo Dottori” a trekking route, promoted by “The stories of Loz” in collaboration with the Gerardo Dottori Archives, to discover some of the most significant works left by the futurist painter in the territory of Marsciano.
At 6.00 pm, at the La Spina winery, the presentation of the book “I Rospi Bitorzoluti” by Enrica Elena Pierini and Vincenza Proto.CopyAMP code.
Starting from 9.30 pm the long and evocative night in the castle of Spina with “The Vigil of the already state and the not yet”, a performance of Contemporary Art by Sauro Cardinali: a plural, site-specific work, which sees the participation of eleven contemporary artists “holding back” with the public in a rediscovered sociality and (re) discovery of the place. Works by: Sonia Andresano, Lucia Bricco, Sauro Cardinali, Virginia Dal Magro, Iginio De Luca, Matteo De Nando, Danilo Fiorucci, Monica Palma, Elena Nonnis, Angelo Pretolani, Roberto Rossini.
Sunday 11th September
At the Casale di Ceci di Montelagello concert at dawn, starting at 05.30, with Dimitri Grechi Espinoza, one of the most popular saxophonists in Italy who brings his latest work “The Healing Sax” to the Gecko Fest 2022.
At 9.00 in Mercatello a new appointment with “Meeting Gerardo Dottori” for a walk, this time, by bicycle with a stop at Villa Cesari Tiberi, historic residence of Monte Vibiano Vecchio frescoed by the Doctors.
“A biodiverse world” is the common thread in the castle of Spina for the whole day on Sunday. From 10.00 to 20.00 Umbria Biodiversity 2022, market for producers of agricultural and artisanal biodiversity. At 10.30 am and 4.00 pm the playful-didactic laboratory “Chi Cerca Trova” on agrobiodiversity themes will be organized by the 3A-PTA Park. At 11.00 the presentation of the “Save the Soil” project, the worldwide ecological movement launched by the Indian mystic and yogi Sadhguru, with Flavio Cecchetti. Following, at 12.00, the presentation of the book “The gift of bread – The Umbrian peasant civilization between yesterday and tomorrow” with Angelo Fanelli and Michele Bellini.
At 12.30 the talk with guided tasting “A biodiverse world” in the company of Luciano Giacchè, Danilo Porro, Luciano Concezzi, Mauro Gramaccia by Valentina Dugo and in collaboration with the 3A-PTA Park.
