Yes is closed the summer session of the Serie A transfer market and the Lazio she got out of it – probably – strengthened. After the 2021-22 season closed in fifth place in Serie A, in the first year with Maurizio Sarri on the biancoceleste bench, the Lazio club aims for a further leap in quality and the next step can only be the qualification in the Champions League, which can be obtained in two ways: by winning one of the first four places in the standings or by winning the Europa League.
The Biancoceleste management tried to comply with the requests of the coach Sarri. So experienced and quality players landed in Formello such as Marcos Antonio and Alessio Romagnoli, as well as Matias Vecino. To these are added talented players to grow behind the owners: from Cancellieri and Casale – both arrived from Verona – to central defender Gila (Real Madrid school). Revolution also in goal with the arrivals of Maximiano and Provedel in place of Pepe Reina and Strakosha, both left to go away at no cost.
Lucas Leiva and Luiz Felipe also took off the biancoceleste jersey. Between a Muriqi and a Vavro, Lazio also let go of Francesco Acerbi, who after breaking up with the Lazio environment last season waited until the end for the proposal from Inter from his mentor Simone Inzaghi.
At the end of the 2022 summer transfer session, Lazio has a deeper squad than last season. The confirmations of the precious pieces Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto (especially the latter, given for close to the transfer to Spain during most of the session) are a point in favor, with Maurizio Sarri who can count on reserves at the height. Perhaps a real deputy building is missing, but the Lazio technician is a master who also exalts a trident with the false nine.
