CAGLIARI. Staff in hotels and restaurants is in short supply. The risk is that the quality of the service offered for the summer season is adequate to the demand. Tourism on the island flies, it happens since Easter.
According to Airbnb, at the end of April the nights booked for summer 2022 on the platform had registered a 30 percent increase compared to the same period of 2019, the year before the pandemic.
“Since April so many people have been arriving”, says the regional councilor for tourism Gianni Chessa, “now we need the best service from the accommodation and hospitality structures, but there is a lack of labor. And it’s not a problem today ”. According to the number one in Tourism of the Region, “the fault” lies with the citizenship income: “We must organize ourselves to overcome it and understand how to make up for the measure that leaves people at home”.
