Today 24 June Alfa Romeo turns 112. So much time has passed since the foundation of the brand in 1910 and for the occasion the Biscione has decided to celebrate: taking his F1 to the streets of Milan.
The Alfa Romeo Orlen single-seater that usually whizzes on the Formula 1 circuits (welcome Alfa Romeo Orlen C42 2022) arrived in Milan on 24 June along the streets of the center. From Piazza Duomo to City Life, passing through Piazza San Babila, Porta Nuova, the Central Station and finally the Gattamelata area, a place with a strong historical significance. In 1910 in the Gattamelata area, in fact, the Portello was built, Alfa Romeo’s first production site which today houses the brand’s new Flagship Store, the first showroom in the world to introduce the new Alfa Romeo Brand Identity (the new Alfa Romeo flagship store has been inaugurated).
The choice of Milan for the tour with the F1 car was therefore not accidental. 112 years ago with the name Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili the brand was presented to the whole world, effectively changing the history of motoring. Driving the car for the 112th anniversary celebrations was also Valtteri Bottas, official driver of the Alfa Romeo F1 Teamwho in a few months has conquered 46 points on the field and is currently in eighth place in the drivers’ standings.
