A1 closed due to accident. Diverted traffic, long queues and inconveniences

A serious accident in the night around 4:00, in the Calcara area on the outskirts of Bologna, resulted in the closure of the A1 motorway section between Modena Sud and the Val Samoggia junction.

According to an initial reconstruction, two trucks and a car collided in the Bolognese area. Following the collision, the two heavy vehicles would have overturned in the middle of the street with a consequent loss of load that would also have caught fire.

The 118 health workers were immediately brought to the scene. Unfortunately, one of the two comionists would have lost his life in the crash. The other two drivers were injured, while the Fire Brigade was also on site to allow the recovery of the vehicles involved.

Those traveling to Bologna it must exit at Modena Sud but Modena Nord is recommended and can return to the motorway at Valsamoggia after having covered the external roads.

Those traveling to Milan it is compulsorily diverted onto the A14 through the Casalecchio ring road. It is advisable to exit at Bologna Borgo Panigale and to return to the A1 in Modena south after having covered the external roads.
