Covid infections in Italy and hospitalizations: Rt, incidence, intensive care and employment in ordinary wards rise. This is what emerges from the weekly monitoring of the trend of Covid-19 in Italy, from the control room of the Higher Institute of Health-Ministry of Health.
RT – In the period 1-14 June, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases of Covid was 1.07 (range 0.76-1.48), an increase compared to the previous week and above the epidemic threshold. The transmissibility index based on cases with hospitalization is increasing and also above the epidemic threshold: it is equal to 1.16 (1.11-1.21) as of June 14, against the value of 0.95 ( 0.91-1) as of June 7.
INCIDENCE – The weekly incidence of Covid at the national level rises to 504 per 100 thousand inhabitants in the period 17-23 June, against 310/100 thousand in the period 10-16 June.
