“I didn’t expect to cause all this clamor: I just reported the mistake to my students so as not to put them in difficulty. I imagine that other professors in Italy also realized that that note to Giovanni Pascoli’s poetry was wrong … ».

Like this Francesco Uberti, teacher of the Cossali of Orzinuovi on the error found Wednesday in the note to «La via ferrata» relating to the «feminil lament», which the Ministry trace attributes to the telegraph and not, as Pascoli does, to the locomotive. We reported it in the newspaper yesterday.

On the affair the Ministry of Education released an official note yesterday afternoon. Here it is: “With reference to the report on the alleged error in the trace on Giovanni Pascoli proposed for the first test of the State Exams, the Ministry of Education specifies that the notes were not processed by the drafters of the trace, but are taken from the aforementioned edition as a Source. In the case of the poem “La via ferrata”, the note in question is taken from “Poesie” by Giovanni Pascoli, Garzanti, Milan, 1994, notes by Maurizio Cucchi, Italian poet, literary critic, translator and publicist ».

In short: the finished note in the ministerial exam track is the result of copying and pasting the texts of others. Error included.
