Orange alert level tomorrow in Sicily for heat waves. And of attention (red) for fire risk in south-eastern Sicily, in the provinces of Catania, Syracuse, Ragusa, Caltanissetta and Enna; early warning (orange) in the others. This is the bulletin released by the regional civil protection.
Meanwhile, the number of Italian cities with the red dot, which indicates the maximum level of heat risk for the entire population, is downsized. If today there are two urban centers with this mark, Bologna and Florence (yesterday there were 4), the hottest urban centers, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow they will no longer be seven but four (in addition to Bologna and Florence, also Campobasso and Pescara) . This is the result of the heat wave bulletin of the Ministry of Health, active from May and September and constantly updated with forecasts for 27 cities at 24, 48 and 72 hours.
Orange stamps are also decreasing (hot alert for the most fragile): today they are 4 (Campobasso, Catania, Palermo and Pescara) against the 9 expected. For tomorrow the number of orange stickers, 8, is only slightly lower than the 9 expected (and concerns Ancona, Catania, Frosinone, Messina, Palermo, Perugia, Reggio Calabria and Rieti. While for Saturday the orange stamps are 5 (Ancona, Messina, Perugia, Reggio Calabria and Rieti). Heat waves, the ministry’s website reads, occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong solar radiation and no ventilation. These climatic conditions can pose a health risk to the population.
