Umana, the Job Agency’s main partner of the Award for seven years, has chosen this year to bring the prestigious national contest of contemporary Italian fiction promoted by the Campiello Foundation of Confindustria Veneto, now in its 60th edition, to the Ducal City.

On Tuesday 28 June, from 8 pm at the Teatro Farnese, the meeting with the authors of the Cinquina Finalist of the Prize will be held. The Umana event, built around books and their authors with an established format between music and theater, was born with the patronage of the Parma Union of Industrialists and the collaboration of the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta.

An evening that will alternate the reading of some passages taken from the five works in competition and the interviews with the authors of Alessandra Tedesco, cultural journalist of Radio24, with the musical accompaniment of “Oltre Swing” (Francesco Django Barbieri on clarinet, Nunzio Barbieri on guitar , Massimo Pitzianti on accordion, Pierre Steeve Jino Touche on double bass). The readings will be recited by Alessandra Bedino and Fernando Maraghini.

This year’s finalist authors are: Antonio Pascale, with “The fig leaf. Stories of trees, women, men …” (Einaudi); Fabio Bacà, with “Nova” (Adelphi); Daniela Ranieri, with “Updated road map of all my kisses” (Ponte alle Grazie); Bernardo Zannoni, with “My stupid intentions” (Sellerio); Elena Stancanelli, with “Il tuffatore” (The ship of Theseus).

Campiello Award

The Campiello Prize was established by the industrialists of Veneto in 1962. The name “campiello”, a typical space of Venetian public life, underlines both the participation of a ‘popular’ jury for the choice of the winner, and the link with Venice. The Award is promoted and managed by the Il Campiello Foundation, made up of the Veneto Industrial Associations and their regional Confindustria. Over the years it has become one of the most important awards in the panorama of Italian literary competitions. It is an example of a successful and strategic connection between the world of business and culture.
