Those 40 steps which lead to the civic hall of the Town Hall of Villanuova for Alessio Quainijust 13 years old, more than half of whom spent dealing with congenital heart disease, were an insurmountable obstacle.

To support him, during the trial against the teacher who had responsibility for the boy on the morning of April 11 eight years ago, is the consultant of the prosecutor Carlo Pappalardo: Dr. Leonardo Gottin. According to the coroner, the boy’s death, preceded by a few years from that of the twin due to the same diseasecould only have depended on that physical effort, an effort that the doctors – who had been treating him for years and who had implanted him with a defibrillator – had forbidden him.

Dr. Matteo Ciuffreda, specialist who dealt with Alessio, today consultant appointed by the lawyer Veronica Zanotti, defender of Alessio’s parents, reiterated the concept; while Pierluigi Delpecchia and Luca Bontempi, consultants appointed by the lawyer. Ennio Buffoli, defender of the teacher, excluded that those 40 steps were in themselves an unsustainable effort for Alessio and argued that there is no proof that his death was due to an arrhythmia.
