A 46-year-old from Castel Volturno was arrested for aggravated theft by the carabinieri in execution of a precautionary measure issued by the gip of the court of Florence. From Campania he would have reached Florence to steal scooters and, via a van, bring them back to the province of Caserta to resell them.
The man is being investigated for stealing 20 Honda SH scooters in several episodes in Florence in Oltrarno, Bagno a Ripoli and Scandicci, between October 2021 and March 2022. Thanks to the images of the cameras, the investigators managed to identify the perpetrator who, according to what was reconstructed, together with other people, unknown to the state, who provided him with support, would have arrived from Castel Volturno driving a van in the Tuscan capital to carry out the thefts and then return to Campania.
The investigations made it possible to reconstruct six episodes that took place in Florence (on 12 October 2021 and on 14 February, 22 February and 2 March 2022), on 18 December 2021 in Grassina and on 21 December 2021 in Scandicci. On each occasion the arrested person managed to own three or four scooters, always the Honda SH model, parked along the roads. He broke the steering lock and quickly loaded them into the van. The 46-year-old was arrested in his home in Castel Volturno by the carabinieri of Mondragone.
