Among the new faces that will be on the track, with continuity, starting from next season is that of Oscar Piastri. In recent months, the young Australian talent has been made official by the McLaren as a future teammate of Lando Norris, thus taking the place of his compatriot Daniel Ricciardo who returned to Red Bull where he will be the reserve of the verstappen-Perez duo.
Piastri has already had the opportunity to gain confidence with the McLaren environment during the post-season test held in November in Abu Dhabi. An important occasion for the Australian who has not only become familiar with the single-seater, but also with the team with which he will share his professional career.
“The test was really, really positive for me – said Piastri, quoted by RacingNews365 – I think driving the car was the most positive thing. I think having this particular experience was really important. It gave me the opportunity to work on the marginal aspects, get to know my engineers better and get to know all the team members better”.
Piastri, completing his analysis, added: “If there are some things I want to change for next year, I can talk about them with people. I look forward to being able to put on some of my little stuff if I want to. All those side things that aren’t necessarily seen, are all things I can work on in the weeks leading up to the season.”
