Wolves’ day today in Calabria: in a typically winter context, it’s cold and bad weather is raging throughout the Region. There are no exceptional phenomena or extreme weather conditions, but it is raining throughout the Region with copious snowfalls in the inland areas down to low altitudes. TO Reggio Calabria they fell 18mm of rain and it continues to rain with barely +7°C. TO Croton they fell 21mm of rain and it’s raining with +6°C. It also rains at Catanzaro (12mm daily) with +6°Cto Cosenza (24mm daily) with +5°C and in Vibo Valentia (13mm daily) with just +4°C.

It is rare that in Calabria it rains on the whole Region at the same time, due to the complex orography of the territory indented by the mountains. Yet today is one of those rare days when, among other things, the snow falls abundantly from a low altitude due to the intense cold. On all the reliefs of the Region, from Pollino to Aspromonte, it is snowing starting from 650700 meters altitude, exactly as expected in recent days.

Spectacular photographs taken by Francis Granato with the drone just today on Lorica It is on Lake Arvo where the temperature dropped to -2°C. Tomorrow the sun will shine again on the whole Region.
