(ANSA) – GENOA, 15 JAN – “We are aware of the importance of the match against Venice, I want sacrifice and determination from the team”. This is how Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino talks about tomorrow’s match at Ferraris with Venezia. ” We play in front of our fans who will have to be the twelfth man on the pitch but we will have to be good at dragging them along with the performance” continues the coach who positively archives the Italian Cup parenthesis with Roma even if the Griffin was defeated: ” They are matches that increase self-esteem as well as the matches in Bari or at home against Frosinone. In Rome the result was negative but the performance was important, as a real team”.
“Tomorrow we’ll meet a team that doesn’t reflect their position in the standings with young players who have strength and leg, they’ve changed coaches and in the last few games they’ve achieved important results and it’s a lively team that’s doing very well”.
He’s deciding whether to deploy a 3-5-2 or go back to line four: “But that’s not the problem, the fundamental aspect is certainly the adaptation of the players.” He still has to decide on Coda: “We’re making some assessments, also in that sense: he played an important match in Rome, fighting for every ball. I also have to think about it from a tactical point of view but he only has to think about working during the week as he always has because his availability and his will are fundamental”. (HANDLE).
