(ANSA) – AOSTA, 15 JAN – The trade union organization Conapo has called a strike for Thursday 19 January which will affect professional firefighters from 8 to 10. “In compliance with current regulations – reads a note – they will the obligations to guarantee urgent technical assistance to the population and in particular the fire extinguishing service and urgent technical assistance have been met”.
“It will be a ‘silent’ strike – explains Roberto Uva, Conapo regional secretary – since by guaranteeing our rescue services, users and the Aosta Valley population will not realize it, but we are sure that it will not go unnoticed because we can already affirm which will be the first of a long series”. He then adds: “The choice was made necessary for the Government and Administration to realize the needs and urgencies to resolve our requests which have substantial repercussions on the quality of the public service that the firefighters always guarantee, even during the strike.” “In July of the past year, the commitments signed by the President of the Region gave us the illusion of being able to trust us – continues Luca Pison, a member of the Conapo secretariat – and we revoked the strike called for July 13, thus making Jovanotti’s concert Today, 6 months after that meeting, we are still awaiting a draft of the law aimed at establishing an autonomous bargaining department for the Aosta Valley firefighters and foresters: this bill should have been approved by the Valle Council by 31 October 2022”.
