The research of the ‘ImpresaLavoro’ study center
CAMPOBASSO/ISERNIA. Innovative startups? Molise conquers the fourth place in the ranking in Italy. As reported by Ansa, the data emerges from a research by the ‘ImpresaLavoro’ study center on data processing by Unioncamere, the Ministry of Economic Development and InfoCamere.
The research shows, as of 1 July 2022, a 1.8% growth in Italy compared to the previous quarter alone, bringing the total number of them to 14,621.
In the ratio between the quantity of start-ups compared to the population, Molise emerges in fourth place, one of the smallest regions of Italy which is behind only Lombardy in “pole position” with 39.26% per 10 thousand inhabitants, Lazio with 31.04% and Trentino-Alto Adige with 29.81%. The local territory is 28.41% per 10,000 inhabitants.
The sectors in which innovative companies mainly operate are 76% in business services such as software development and IT consultancy, 15.74% in manufacturing, energy and mining, followed by agriculture and commerce. At the bottom of the standings is Calabria with 14.71% per 10,000 inhabitants, Sardinia with 14.55% and Sicily with 14.26%.
