Initiated by the regional councilor for Employment and Vocational Training, John Calabrese, a phase of dialogue and sharing with the trade union representatives on the problems of work and precariousness in Calabria. Today the first negotiation table attended by the President of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto. The Director General of the Department was present at the meeting, Robert Cosentinothe secretaries of the triple union Married Angel (Cigl)), Tony Russo (Cisl) and Holy Blond (Uil). President Occhiuto has confirmed the maximum collaboration so that the course on the precariousness can be reversed and intervene in a prudent and widespread manner. The governor and the Calabrese councilor have informed that a study phase is being launched for the transformation of the “Calabria Lavoro Company” into an employment agency, thus allowing it to deal with the work in an effective and collaborative manner also and mainly with the Centers for employment.
Other news is that of an analysis phase that the Department is carrying out to analyze the employment situation in detail. “It will be carried out – explained Calabrese – an x-ray on the data of the employment world and on the numbers of precarious workers in Calabria, aiming, at the same time, at the creation of opportunities and training”. In this regard, maximum appreciation from the trade union world for having chosen to merge the work sector with professional training in the Department; I also applaud the president Occhiuto and the Calabrese councilor for the work and commitment that the general manager Roberto Cosentino is carrying out admirably.
“Calabria – added the exponent of the Giunta Occhiuto – must be able to have its say in terms of employment. The negative trend that for years has seen precarious and unemployed afflict the entire Region and the employment system being among the most critical of the peninsula must, today, change as soon as possible by creating new occupation with the aim of curbing the phenomenon of the constant flight from our Region of young and less young people. I am convinced – Calabrese finally argued – that employment can be built through reforms and targeted interventions”.
Meanwhile, the sharing of a single path on the prudent use of community resources to create real and stable employment also emerged from the table. Giovanni Calabrese’s intention is to build a job plan with the support of trade unions and employers’ associations. Furthermore, it was agreed to adopt this method of comparison and the proposal of a stable and scheduled comparison on a periodic basis for the resolution of problems and the start of a phase that can talk about opportunities and incentives, each in respect of the role they occupy..
