The intervention to help a couple of hikers from Belfiore (VR) ended around 11pm, who ended up together with the two dogs at the bottom of the Vajo dell’Orsa on Monte Baldo, after having lost the path.

Yesterday around 16.30 the Alpine Rescue of Verona was activated by the 118 Central, following the call of two hikers, he 47, she 48 years old. Having reached Malga Orsa after a nice walk, the couple on returning with their small greyhounds lost track, passing between rocky cliffs and lowering themselves more and more, until they stopped without knowing how to proceed.

An initial whatsapp position indicated them at about 750 meters above sea level on the orographic left and a team, which left from Ferrara di Monte Baldo along the path that leads to Malga Orsa, then cut across, arriving above the presumed vertical and started calling them, but did not receive no response.

Through a second contact, the rescuers had a more precise geolocation, or 150 meters further north and right inside the Vajo. By equipping several abseils to get around the numerous rock jumps, the team finally reached them by overcoming a steep couloir to reach the bottom of the vajo and then go up again.
