Yesterday the Regional Functional Center has announced that the Civil Protection Department has issued the notice of adverse weather conditions with an indication that from the early hours of this morning and for the following 18-24 hours. Traffic chaos immediately, with schools reopening today.
Thunderstorm in Rome, the yellow alert
Scattered to widespread precipitation in Lazio, including downpours or thunderstorms, especially on the Tyrrhenian slopes of mountainous areas. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. Furthermore, from the early hours of today and for the following 18-24 hours, strong or stormy winds are expected, especially on the Apennine ridges, tending to rotate from west/northwest in the morning, with possible storm surges on the exposed coasts.
The Regional Functional Center has carried out the assessment of the alert and criticality levels and has therefore forwarded a bulletin with a yellow alert for hydrogeological and hydrogeological criticality for thunderstorms starting today throughout Lazio. The permanent operations room of the Lazio Region has issued the alert of the Regional Civil Protection System.
