In Arboera and Terralba state of calamity, other municipalities will follow

(ANSA) – ORISTANO, NOVEMBER 24 – Two days after the storm of rain and wind that hit Sardinia, particularly scourged the Oristano and Medio Campidano areas, the Municipalities of Arborea and Terralba declared a state of natural disaster.

Provision that other municipalities in the district could also take in the next few hours.

Meanwhile, Confagricoltura is trying to calculate the damage suffered by the companies. “Not only the water, but the wind and tornadoes were the real cause that led to hundreds of thousands of euros in damages – explains the president of Oristano Tonino Sanna – A first estimate that for now concerns the greenhouses and tunnels uncovered, knocked down or heavily damaged to which must be added all the lost product (mushrooms and vegetables), which was close to harvest right inside these structures”.

“The climate crisis – clarifies the manager of the trade organization – confronts us with these events which no longer have the character of exceptionality, but which unfortunately we have to take into account when we start production planning among the items of expenditure or of loss that will affect the final balance of the agricultural season.

On the side of the activities that are the responsibility of the institutions, we ask that the sectoral structures of the Region immediately take action to carry out a detailed verification of the damages in the companies”. (ANSA).
