Genoa. Unscheduled romantic and exciting yesterday afternoon at the end of the Italy-South Africa rugby match at the Ferraris. The blue player Pierre Bruno, from Genoa, knelt down in front of his fiancée to make her the marriage proposal.

“I will never forget this day. Playing for the national team in my city, in front of my family, my friends and my fiancée, who I asked to marry… it was an indescribable joy“, commented the Italrugby winger at the end of the match.

It was last March Marco Zanon, at the Olimpico, to kneel in front of his fiancée to ask for her hand after the match of the Six Nations Italy-Scotland and today at Ferraris Bruno did the same. He too had the joy of having a yes answer from his partner, with the added emotion of having done so in the stadium of his city, to the applause of the 26,000 who were present at the meeting.

Bruno, born in 1996, grew up in the Genoese club of the Bears of the Western Provinces and today he plays in the Zebras, franchise of Federugby which plays in the United Rugby Championship, the transnational championship that brings together the best Welsh, Scottish, French, Italian and South African teams.
