MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “The property confiscated in the area is not a problem to be faced, but a resource to be exploited”. This was stated by the President of the Anti-Mafia Commission Monica Forte speaking this morning at Palazzo Pirelli at the press conference on regional policies linked to assets confiscated from the Mafia and to usury. “It is essential that all the subjects involved, from entrepreneurs, to associations, to institutions, are able to network, listen to each other and find the right way to support those who end up in the plots of usurers – continued Monica Forte -. It is also necessary to commit ourselves to the end to prevent this phenomenon, providing effective devices to support entrepreneurs in a serious crisis of over-indebtedness and thus avoid letting them fall into the hands of organized crime”. Lombardy is the third Italian region, after Sicily and Campania, for the number of Procedures under Management (604) managed by the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office and with over 1,500 properties seized from the mafia and destined for social projects. The numbers of the phenomenon were communicated by the regional councilor for security Romano La Russa who underlined how “Lombardy Region has concretely contributed to the support of asset allocation initiatives by financing, between 2019 and 2022, as many as 87 projects presented by local authorities and concessionaire bodies for a total amount of almost 5 and a half million euros”. Romano La Russa announced that “a media campaign to fight usury will start by the end of the year with a video made by the Lombardy Region which will be disseminated on social media platforms and local television stations”. During the press conference, the assignment of a real estate unit confiscated from the mafia in viale Monza in Milan was presented, which will become the future headquarters of the activity of the SOS Italia Libera Anti-racket and Anti-usury Association, recognized by the Ministry of the Interior and operating in Lombardy: the president Paolo Bocedi spoke to represent the Association. Also present were the Regional Councilor Selene Pravettoni, Vice President of the Anti-Mafia Commission, and the Honorable Riccardo De Corato, previously Councilor for Security of the Lombardy Region.(ITALPRESS).Photo Credits: Lombardy Regional Council press office trl/com 15-Nov- 22 16:30
